Nokia today unveiled the Lumia 1020, a 4.5-inch Windows Phone 8 smartphone that features the much-rumored 41-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. The 41MP Windows Phone, which has been anticipated by many enthusiasts since the 808 PureView was introduced, is looked at Nokia as “the next chapter in smartphone photography.” The phone is only offered in yellow, black and white hues.
Adding to the 4.5-inch AMOLED PureMotion HD+ display that comes in at 1,280-by-768 pixels, with a 16:9 aspect ratio,the 1020 will feature OIS, BSI, lossless zoom, six Carl Zeiss lenses, 1080p video capture, xenon flash for stills and LED flash for video. The phone also has ball bearings and tiny magnetic motors built-in to aid in optical image stabilization.
It will run on a 1.5-GHz, dual-core Qualcom Snapdragon S4 processor. The screen is made from supersensitive Gorilla Glass 3, which Nokia said will detect touch from fingernails or those wearing gloves.
The Lumia 1020 will be available exclusively on AT&T starting on July 26 for $299.99 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders begin on July 16 via AT&T’s website.The expected price of Nokia Lumia 1020 in India will be around 40,000 rupees,and it will be available in India very soon,but not before Diwali.

“This passion for pictures is something that Nokia recognized very, very early on. We filed our first imaging patent in 1994; the first of 450 imaging patents we hold today,”  Nokia chief Stephen Elop said today.
“The Nokia 1020 will change how you shoot, how you create, and how you share pictures forever,” he said.
The smartphone will surpass other phones when it comes  HD videography.We can shoot videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second, and allows for 4x zoom without loss of quality. In HD 720p, the Lumia 1020 allows for 6x zoom. Digital high-performance microphones also record high-quality stereo sounds with deep bass, even at loud events.There is an LED flash for video mode.
