Google Play Store hits 25 billion downloads : Get Huge Discount on Premium Apps

Google have announced that Google Play has now hit 25 billion application downloads and are running a special promotion to celebrate.

To celebrate this Achievement  Google is offering a number of applications for £0.25 , which is a massive Discount on their standard prices. The applications on offer change everyday and some of the applications available today include Angry Birds Space Premium, OfficeSuite Pro 6+, Asphalt 7: Heat and many more.

Google has said,

Every day you’ll be able to choose from a collection of apps from some of the world’s top developers including Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, Runtastic, Full Fat and more. And all for just 25 cents. We’ll also be offering some special collections like 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top selling magazines, all at special prices. Visit Google Play a little later today to check them out.

by the end of 2013 Google Play will easily cross the 50 billion downloads mark  and will have moved well ahead of Apple’s App Store . Apple’s App Store hit 25 billion downloads back in March and it’s always been ahead of Google Play, but with Google’s current rate of growth it’ll catchup quickly.

We can’t even begin to imagine the revenue Google have generated from Google Play. However, the ratio of premium/free downloads is still well below Apple’s , which is something Google will be keen to change,Google biggest competitor, Apple had recently at the launch of the iPhone 5 said that Apple’s App Store has 700,000 apps and has crossed the 30 billion apps downloaded milestone.
